Access Control PanelI work in a busy school and, because we are responsible for the welfare of a large number of young people on a day to day basis, the school have installed an
Access Control Panel for staff to gain entry to the site. The
Access Control Panel means that all the staff have to have a swipe card and they must use this to get in and out of school. The
Access Control Panel works really well I think and is effective in more than one way. For example, it is a really good means of keeping pupils in school as they can only leave the site by the main reception. This has cut down on truancy quite dramatically. The other way it works really well is that there is now way intruders can enter the site because all of the doors are permanently locked unless opened with the swipe card. Therefore everybody feels much safer going about their education and the staff feel safer knowing that no-one can get in and ruin their lessons. I think every school should think about using this type of system to ensure that everyone on the premises feels safe at all times.
